Association Activities

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, GUEST LECTURE ON "ALTERNATE SOURCES OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY"

As a part of association activities, a guest lecture was arranged for II, III and IV year EEE students on the topic "Alternate Sources of Electrical Energy" at Alhaj Dhastagir auditorium on 11.08.2016. The session started at 1:30 P.M. and Er. E. Arunkumar, M.E., (PhD)., Vice President, Retech Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Chennai delivered the lecture. He instilled the basics of electrical energy, the components used and principles involved in power generation. He explained about Wind and Solar Energy generation and the problem of integrating non-renewable sources with the grid. The session was very much interactive and students had an insight about the applications of alternate energy sources. The second year students were very much oriented towards the lecture since it covers a part of the curriculum. The Third and Final year students had learnt the technologies involved in power generation and inquired how the concept of renewable energy can be incorporated to the project. The resource person demonstrated wind energy generation through supportive videos for better exposure.
