Department of Science and Humanities
Knowledge is like an ocean unfathomable. Our Institution is the torch bearer of knowledge and has been spreading its wings to remove illiteracy, ignorance and inability.
To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield is our motto. So we march ahead with this vision and mould our students to fit themselves for the world of today and tomorrow.
Students Community is the chosen one and we involve ourselves in the process of making them model to others. We will work strenuously to bring out the hidden talents and potentiality of the learners to fulfill the needs of the industry and other sectors for the fullest extent.
Students update their knowledge in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to make their foundation strong. Excellent Technical knowledge with skills to Communicate will ensure them to get a job. Communication Skills play an important role in shaping the career of Engineers.
The department of S&H was started in the year 2000. This department lays the base for furthering into one’s engineering career. Well experienced faculty with four doctorates contribute much in developing and moulding the students in enhancing their knowledge to comprehend the basic subjects for better exposure. Students are guided through with innovative teaching methods to make learning enjoyable. The laboratories available are well equipped to put into practice what the students have learnt in theory classes. In addition to Literary and Debating Club activity, students are also exposed to various activities like NSS, YRC, Physical Education and Yoga to enable themselves face life with confidence and societal responsibility. The department holds the responsibility in making student – teacher and parent – teacher interaction possible. This department on the whole make students elevated to face with optimistic approach the next level in their career.
I feel cheerful in introducing the Department of Science and Humanities which imparts knowledge through teaching and implementing practical aspects. The Department of Science and Humanities was established in the year 2000 right from the day of initiation of our Mohamed Sathak A J College of Engineering. The department has 17 dedicated and highly qualified teaching faculties (including 4 Doctorates), passionate in producing knowledgable students with good academic results. With these 2 lab instructors and 1 attender support the department.
The Department of Science and Humanities plays an important role in Engineering college. The Department is headed by myself Dr. M.Muralidharan. I have more than two decades of teaching experience. The purpose of Science and Humanities in Engineering study is to lay a strong foundation of basic ideas and principles of various disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computers, Electronics, Mechanics and Communication Skills in the mind of the students in the first and second semester, so that they proceed to rest of their years of study with up to date knowledge and training of basic engineering skills. Physics, Chemistry and Communication laboratories have been well established not only cater to the curriculum prescribed by Anna University, but also to learn and enhance their knowledge beyond the syllabus both in theory and practicals. Well equipped classrooms, wifi connectivity and communication laboratory with advanced version of computers help students to achieve the status of employability and good exposure.
The teaching methodology includes lectures, tutorials and practicals. We follow innovative methods of teaching, provide regular assignments and students mentoring system which resolves the student’s queries. In total the overall personality of the students is groomed in a well organized manner.
